Specioza lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with five children and three of her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (grandchildren). She sells maize bran from home. She sells her products on both a retail and wholesale basis. She gets additional income from selling piped water and raising chickens at home. She has been in business for the last 15 years. She works seven days a week.
She has requested a loan of Uganda shillings 2,000,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy bags of maize bran. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to buy a delivery van to ease in the transportation of bags of maize bran and to build rental houses. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and food.
