A loan of $600 helped a member to buy fertilizer and insecticides for her farmland and to buy pig feed.

Kim's Group's story

A resident of a rural village of the Moung Russey district, Kim is a 31-year-old mother of two children, all of whom are dependent and still in school. The family’s main sources of income are from growing rice and raising pigs, which Kim has been involved in for six years. With her current business, she can earn about 15,000 KHR per day but she can only save about 10,000 KHR a day after deducting expenses.

Kim has been with VisionFund for two cycles, while the other members of the group have been with VisionFund for one cycle. Kim successfully paid back the past loans, which enabled her to support her family. Now she is leading her group of three in seeking a new loan. Kim, the leader, will use her potion to buy fertilizer and insecticides for her farmland and will also use some of it to buy pig feed.

She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her income so as to improve her standard of living.
