A loan of $600 helped to buy clothing materials for her business.

Jeriah's story

Jeriah, a 49-year-old married mother of four children ranging from 10 to 26 years of age, describes herself as a hardworking and caring woman. For three years now she has been operating a tailoring business that sells dresses, second-hand clothes and clothing materials. Jeriah's enterprise is located within a residential area and near schools; the low purchasing power of some of her customers is her biggest business challenge. Additionally, she sells bananas to local residents and schools, which increases her income.

Having received two previous loans of Kes 20,000 and 50,000, both since repaid, Jeriah will use this Kes 50,000 loan to buy clothing materials to make more dresses to sell during the December holiday season when she anticipates demand will be high. Her business goal is to improve her enterprise within five years, and she hopes to build a house for her family in the future.
