A loan of $1,425 helped a member to buy plastics and aluminum to sell.

La Esperanza Group's story

This communal bank is in its first loan cycle, and it is a responsible group. One example is Señora Teresa, a woman who was in a [different] group which she left, but she wanted to continue working and she joined another group to continue working and helping her family. She is very active and sacrificing. She lives in a simple house in the neighborhood with her six children. She works in recycling, and through this work she is advancing. She says that she goes out every day to collect recyclable products such as plastics, cardboard, and other items.

Teresa says that she is proud of what she does, since it is dignified and honest work. She is applying for this loan to buy plastics and aluminum in quantity so that she can resell it, and in this way she will be able to have a greater income. She is grateful for the opportunity that she and her group are receiving.
