A loan of $400 helped to buy carbonated drinks.

Jessenia's story

Jessenia, 23 years old, is a hard-working and determined woman who is eager to get ahead. She is also friendly and sociable. She lives together with Bill who is employed and is the father of her only child. Together they live comfortably in the house of her sister-in-law. Jessenia’s business is the sale of carbonated drinks of various flavors and different brands. She makes these sales from her house where she has a refrigerator to keep her drinks at an icy temperature at the liking of her customers. This is due to the warm area where she lives.

She started the business more than 18 months ago with her own capital, buying and selling in small quantities, then increasing her purchases as demand increased and so far her business has been strengthening. She says that she decided on this business to make use of her refrigerator, as a mother she sees the needs that her child has and her partner alone can’t keep up. Therefore this will be her fifth loan with the institution MFP. She is happy and grateful to know that she will have financial support to continue with her plans. She also feels comfortable with and likes the work of her communal bank as she knows the members and considers them to be responsible people.

With the requested total of 1000 nuevos soles (PEN), she will invest in the purchase of carbonated drinks in different flavors and brands and in greater quantity to have stock available for sale, looking for low prices for her purchases. That way she will obtain higher profits.
