A loan of $800 helped to pay off a debt and buy more merchandise such as candy and balloons.

Magdaleno's story

42-year old Magdaleno is married and has two children. His older son is 13 and in 6th grade. The younger is 10 and in grade 3. His wife works at home. Magdaleno has had his business for eleven years; he sells party supplies to stores. He is responsible for delivering his wares to about 60 stores every day on foot. He works from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, and gets up at 5:00 am so he can get to town and buy the candy by 7:30 am. He spends about $80 and sells a minimum of $100. He earns 20% and the rest belongs to the manufacturer.

The loan Magdaleno is seeking will be used to cancel a debt he has with the institution and the rest to buy more merchandise such as candy and balloons. He wishes to invest in more stock in order to have a greater profit margin so he can improve his family's standard of living.
