A loan of $350 helped to buy beans, sugar, oil and clothing.

Melania Del Socorro's story

Melania is 52 years old, married, mother of two children, a merchant, she sells hot dogs, beans and has a mini convenience store, activity that she has done for two years. This was her first business where she was able to support her children and her mom. She gets up in the early hours to cook the beans and in the afternoon she gets her hot dog cart ready to go out and walk the neighborhoods of the city of Granada to sell her products. She earns a living this way every day. She needs the loan to buy beans, sugar, oil and clothing. Her idea is to diversify the business and build a small convenience store as well as sell clothing during the Christmas season when the sales go up for the retail industry and she doesn't want to miss the opportunity to increase her revenue. Her goal is to build a well stocked convenience store and get her family ahead.
