A loan of $4,250 helped a member to purchase several sacks of chacoal.

Malaika Group's story

Furaha is an entrepreneur, and the leader of the Malaika business group. She is forty years old, married, and the mother of six children. She supports them together with her spouse.

Furaha is a charcoal merchant, and she has her own charcoal warehouse. She started her business with the help of funds from her husband. She has now been running her business for over a decade. She just completed her seventeenth loan cycle with IMF Hekima.

Her current loan will serve to supply Furaha with new merchandise (several sacks of charcoal). In addition, Furaha's aim is to expand her business and see her children finish school. She thanks Hekima for their dedication to female entrepreneurship.
