Richard is a 31-year-old, married man with two children, ages 4 and 3, living in Kagadi, Uganda. Due to his passion for agriculture, he started a produce business 3 years ago. With the income earned, Richard has been able to build rental houses to supplement his produce business and also has continued to do farming. He dreams of building a big residential house for his growing family and owning a food store that can sustainably supply the region despite challenges of unpredictable weather and bad roads that affect his business. Richard intends to use the loan to buy beans and maize to sell.
