Irene's story

39-year-old Irene is described as a very cheerful and hard-working woman. She currently lives in the town of Santa Rosa, in Ayacucho region. She is divorced and the mother of three children. With a lot of effort, she managed to finish building a home from good-quality materials for the well-being of her children. In the past, she used to work raising farmyard animals including piglets. She managed to save enough money to start a business selling groceries. She has been working in her grocery business for five years, during which time she has gradually expanded her business into the solid business that it currently is, enabling her to support her children's education.

Irene considers herself to have a large business and a considerable investment and she has a large number of customers. As a result, she has become a very well-liked and well-known person in her neighborhood. However, there are some people who take advantage of her good nature and her kindness by taking a long time to settle their accounts. One of Irene's business needs is to make a small expansion by purchasing soda and basic household supplies wholesale. She would like to do this in order to increase the offerings of her business. She would like to continue working with the same drive she has thus far so that, in the future, she can fulfill one of her dreams which is to become the owner of an establishment selling large and small household goods.

This is Irene's eighth loan. All the other members of her community bank consider her to be a very responsible woman. Occasionally, she brings new ideas to the board of directors of her group, thereby playing an active role within the group.

Irene will use her 2,000 soles to buy merchandise for her business. She will buy packets of soda and basic household supplies. In this way, she hopes to expand her business.
