A loan of $400 helped to pay the processing fees and legal documents for her land.

Gloria Isabel's story

Gloria is a 19-year-old, single woman who lives with her aunt in the city of Ica, in the district of Santiago. She is a kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic young woman with great aspirations of excelling. Unfortunately, Gloria was not able to study secretarial work, her career path of choice, because she has had to work since she was young to help support her parents.

Gloria comes from a very modest family that lives in another city. When she has time, Gloria likes to visit her parents and cook her favorite tallarines rojos (spaghetti with tomato sauce) for her family.

From her own initiative and with much dedication and effort, Gloria started working in the fields of a large farm in her city. She often works 10-hour days starting very early in the morning. Gloria enjoys this work and she believes that its is going well for her thanks to her hard work and the kind way she treats others.

Gloria is very grateful for the support she receives from her aunt, as well as from Kiva lenders. With this loan, Gloria will pay the processing fees and legal documents for a small plot of land. Eventually, she will build her own house on this land. In the meantime, Gloria will continue working and following her dream of becoming a professional.
