La Granja Group

A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy a breeder pig to improve the breed, and to buy pig feed for their piglets.

La Granja Group's story

This united group is composed of three residents of the province of Pichincha. They make their living raising pigs, which brings good results and improves the quality of life of their families.

The president of this group is Don Lizandro, who, with his entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm, has succeeded to grow with his group and with his family. They have grown through hard work and humility, which characterizes agricultural people.

With the loan from FODEMI they will invest in a breeder pig to improve the breed and thereby improve their income. They will also buy pig feed to maintain healthy piglets.

Lizandro aspires to build his own kennel for breeding pigs, and to become a small distributor to the supermarkets in the city. With this income he could fulfill one of his goals, to see his children in college.
