A loan of $275 helped to buy meat, basic grains, sausages, soft drinks, vegetables, and dairy products.

Ventura's story

Ventura, age 55, is single and has two daughters. She lives in a community in the San Pedro Sula municipality in the Cortés department.

Five years ago Ventura decided to establish her grocery business. She sells basic needs products like sugar, beans, rice, flour, over the counter medicine, candy, condiments, cleaning products, and soft drinks.

She has currently requested a loan for 5,000 lempiras. She plans to use it to buy meat, basic grains, sausages, soft drinks, vegetables, and dairy products.

Her goal is to be able to sell merchandise in her store. Upon offering other products, her clientele will increase, as will her income. This way she will manage to have financial stability.
