A loan of $1,000 helped to buy farm supplies.

Basilio's story

Basilio, 30, is married and has five children who are 11, 9, 7, 4 and 2 years of age. He works in agriculture growing a variety of vegetables as well as potatoes, manioc, corn and peanuts. His parcel is located in the community of Belén. This loan is his fourth sequence in the institution and Basilio will use it to prepare the soil for his peanut crop. The reason for requesting the loan is to have resources for planting and to be able to subsist. The business challenge Basilio faces is weather extremes that sometimes ruin crops. He will use profits to improve his and his family’s quality of life because he’s responsible for all household expenses. He’s a responsible, hardworking man who is grateful to the institution for the support provided.
