A loan of $1,775 helped to completely soundproof her studio.

Patricia's story

Patricia, 35, lives in one of the city’s traditional neighborhoods. She has a recording studio there. She went into this business because even though she’s a nurse, her inclination towards entrepreneurship is very strong so she partnered with her sound engineer cousin to set up their own recording studio. They have all the technical equipment to provide recording services of radio jingles, voice-overs for short films, etc. and taking advantage of the fact that her cousin is a musician too they prepare and rehearse young people who are in this line of work and produce background music for documentary films and cultural events.

Patricia is also a beneficiary of the San Pablo sustainable housing macro project and has made her payments punctually and she strives to earn an extraordinary financial reputation in order to grow. She’s currently applying for a Kiva loan to remodel her studio in order to make it completely soundproof. Her Kiva loan will be the fifth loan she gets from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo and her dream is to continue expanding her business to become known in the counrty both locally and regionally.
