A loan of $575 helped to buy bags of organic fertilizer.

Cesarina's story

Cesarina, 29, lives with her partner with whom she has four children, ages 16, 12, 8, and 2. They live in their own home in an indigenous community in the central rainforest. She has been farming for 20 years and works hard alongside her partner. She has coffee, plantain, coconut, and avocado plantings that she tends every day. “Weeds grow quickly, and we need to clear the plants,” she says. Her community granted her four pieces of land, and she says that the harvests are necessary to meet her customers' orders. She wants to increase production so that she can sell to more markets. She is optimistic and confident that she can achieve her goal with hard work.

She is ready to plant more coffee, but she needs help to buy more bags of organic fertilizer to ensure a good planting. This is her sixth loan cycle with MFP. She is happy working with her communal bank “Los Claveles de Shankivironi” because the members are united and caring. She promises to make her loan payments on time. She will use the requested 1500 soles to buy bags of organic fertilizer for her coffee and plantain plants.
