Margaret's story

Margaret lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with five children, and all her children go to school. She has no additional family members. She operates a retail shop that she rents. She also gets additional income from selling fruits and vegetables at the market .She has been in this business for the last 5 years. She works seven days a week. She has requested a loan of 1,000,000 UGX from MCDT – SACCO to buy cooking oil, flour, rice, soap and crates of soda. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to educate her children to university level and expand her retail shop into a wholesale shop. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and food.
