A loan of $2,350 helped a member to buy two superior quality piglets for fattening.


Sari Karya Group's story

Sari Karya group is receiving another loan from MUK of 22,500,000 IDR. There are 15 members in the group and each member will get 1,500,000 IDR. The loans are used to support the pig businesses.

Ni Ketut used the loan to buy two superior quality piglets for fattening. The price today is IDR 450,000 per piglet. The remainder of the loan was used to buy feed. To reduce the cost of feed, Ni Ketut is feeding her pigs with traditional feeds made from banana stems and various kinds of leaves.

Ni Ketut is pursuing this effort in order to support the family financially and particularly so she can participate in the cost of educating her two children.
