A loan of $600 helped to buy fertilizer.

Olinda's story

Olinda is a 20 year old woman who lives in the city of Nazca with her life partner and her one year old son. She loves them, and they are her main reason for living. She is a very kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic woman. She and her life partner devote all of their efforts to getting their family ahead.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of financial resources and the need to work to pay their expenses, Olinda was not able to study for a professional career. However, she would very much have liked to do so. In her free time she likes to watch educational programs on the television. Sometimes she makes the delicious ‘Frejoles con Seco’ [marinated meat with beans] to share with her family.

Olinda farms with great effort and dedication. She has a small piece of land where she grows corn. She starts her work in the field in the early hours of the morning every day. She can work approximately eight hours. She believes it is going well for her because the care and dedication she gives her crops.

Olinda is very grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the help given to her she will be able to buy the fertilizer her crop needs. That way she hopes to be able to get a good harvest from her corn crop. She hopes to be able to sell said harvest for a good price. With this income she hopes to be able to, little by little, fulfill her big dream of having her own house.
