A loan of $400 helped to buy dyes, nail stickers, and exfoliating soaps among other items for her beauty salon.

Zulma Edith's story

Zulma is a 22-year-old single woman who lives in the city of Chincha. She is a kind, hard-working, and enthusiastic person who has a strong desire to get ahead in life. Thanks to the efforts and support of her family, Zulma was able to study cosmetology. In her free time, she likes to watch TV, and sometimes cooks a delicious Carapulcra con Sopa seca [a traditional Peruvian dish from Chincha] to share with her family.

Owing to her own initiative and a lot of hard work and dedication, Zulma works every day in her small hairdressing salon, where she offers haircuts, hair-dying, manicures, pedicures etc. She starts work early in the mornings and can work around 10 hours a day. She enjoys her work and thinks that she is successful because of the way she treats her customers and the comfortable ambiance she has created in her business.

Zulma is very grateful to the Kiva lenders as they will help her to be able to buy supplies for work such as dyes, nail stickers, and exfoliating soaps among other items. In this way, Zulma will have the necessary materials to do her job. She hopes to keep working and striving to achieve her great dream of becoming a businesswoman and having her own spa from which she will be able to offer a complete beauty service.
