A loan of $600 helped to buy bananas.

Silda's story

Silda, 29, is a hardworking, dynamic, cheerful woman. She lives with her partner and their three children who she loves very much. They all live together in a house she owns that she managed to buy with much effort. Silda’s activity is selling bananas; she has a small sales stand in her local market. She rises very early and heads to the port river to await the banana growers. She’s been in this activity for more than three years; her spouse helps her with customer service. She likes her activity and being able to have a reliable source of income she can use to help cover household expenses but does not like having to rise at dawn every day. She also says that the bananas have a resin that stains clothes and is hard to get out. But she does not become discouraged. She hopes to increase her working capital to be able to buy and sell larger volumes to earn higher profits. This will be MFP loan #3. She feels very comfortable in her communal group and is grateful for the support and guidance she’s getting. She will use the requested 1,500 new soles to buy more products for her business. She will buy bananas in larger amounts seeking low prices to earn higher profits.
