A loan of $400 helped to buy young chickens, animal feed, vitamins and poultry vaccines.

Deysi's story

Deysi, 42 years old, is a good woman, friendly and very hardworking. Throughout her life she has proved to be an energetic woman and as a single mother she had to raise her two children alone. Together they live in their own home and she provides them education and food. She wants her children to have a better quality of life.

Deysi works daily raising poultry, raising the animals in the garden of her house. She has more than 100 chickens, and every once in awhile she takes them to market to sale. She says that from the beginning to the end the venture takes 45 days. She says that good clients are always waiting to buy as her chickens are very good because she raises them on pure animal feed.

She has been working in this activity more than six years and it has helped her to succeed and progress. She likes her work because it permits her to plan her own time, although at first she faced many problems, including not knowing the complete process of each cycle, and not knowing that she should give each chicken a vaccination. But now she is completely an expert and each day she wants to improve her method of breeding.

This will be her sixteenth loan though MFP. She is very happy knowing she has financial support, as she feels secure moving ahead in her business.

With the 1000 soles she has asked for, she will buy baby chickens to begin raising, animal feed, some vitamins and necessary vaccines for the good growth of these chickens.
