A loan of $225 helped purchase basic grains like rice, beans, sugar and oil.

Paula's story

Paula is 49 years old, originally from Teustepe, married, and has four children, but currently only has one child who is four years old to take care of. She tells us that she started her grocery store with money that her husband sent from Costa Rica and with a loan that she obtained through other institutions. She has had her store for 3 years, and this has been her primary business from which she survives day by day but she gets other forms of income from the remittances that her husband sends because her objective is to grow her business so she can have higher returns.
Paula is asking for a loan to purchase basic grains such as rice, beans, sugar and oil. She thinks that this loan will be a great help to her to help her economically grow her business and to be able to purchase products that are in greater demand and that her clients look for, she will be able to increase her earnings and expand her business. Her future plans are to pay her first loan and afterwards apply for a second loan to invest more in her grocery store.
