A loan of $500 helped buy the necessary basic ingredients to make pupusas.

Jackelyn Patricia's story

Jackelyn, 26, lives with her life partner and their 4-year-old son. She is very responsible and wants her son to have a good, stable life, so she works to help her husband. Jackelyn runs a pupusería – a store where she makes and sells pupusas (a corn tortilla stuffed with cheese and meat or refried beans). She runs the pupusería from her home and makes the typical dish every day of the week, taking advantage of the weekends when she sells the most. She is requesting a loan to buy all the necessary basic ingredients, like corn, cheese, basic grains, fried pork, vegetables and others, in order to make more pupusas and that way visibly generate more income, which will be beneficial to her household.
