Josie A.s' Group's story

Christian is the featured leader of this group of primary school teachers in Kenema, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. She was born in Baiima Madun village, in Eastern Sierra Leone 55 years ago. Christian is a widow with 4 children. She has served in the teaching profession for 32 years now. She will use her share of the loan to buy house building materials like sand, stones, cement, windows, etc. for the construction of a family dwelling.

With the help of this loan, Christian and her colleagues will be able to buy or invest in items that their mere salaries cannot let them do. But with the help of this loan, some of them will be able to invest in businesses, pay school fees for their children, buy household furniture or house building materials, etc. and at the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayment on their behalf.

In this group: Josie A.s, Margaret , Edward B., Christian P., Elizabeth K.
