Rose lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has two children, neither of whom are attending school. She is not looking after any additional family members. She lives in a rented house with access to neither electricity nor piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent.

For the past year, she has been making and selling snacks at retail in a shop she rents. She works seven days a week. She has no other source of income.

She has requested a loan of UGX 100,000 from MCDT-SACCO to enable her buy ingredients like wheat flour and cooking oil and charcoal for fire. Her challenges include seasonality. Her dream is to become a wholesaler of snacks. She joined MCDT because of the low interest charged on loans.
