Guillermina Mercedes's story

Guillermina Mercedes owns a business making food such as the traditional and delicious "gallo pinto" (made with rice and beans), fried eggs and other tasty dishes in the town of León, Nicaragua. She's been in this line of work for 21 years. She leaves her home at 4:30 a.m. and opens her business at 5 a.m. She finishes with breakfast at 10 a.m., and in the afternoons she sells cracklings from 4 to 8 p.m. She does this work in order to support her household, since she's a single mother. Guillermina is requesting a loan that she'll use to purchase rice, beans, olive oil, chicken, firewood, plates, disposable spoons and plastic bags. Guillermina Mercedes has improved her and her family's living conditions, because with the profits she obtained as a result of the loan provided by Ceprodel she has remodeled her humble home. That way she provided more comfort for her four children.
