A loan of $575 helped to buy soft drinks and complement them with the sale of beer.

Lilian's story

Lilian, 27 years old, is a happy and friendly woman as well as being hardworking and eager to get ahead. She lives with her partner, Jorge, and currently they have their own house.

Lilian sells different brands and flavors of soft drinks, as well as grilled food. She offers these products every weekend in front of her house. She has had her business for more than 20 years and at the moment, her only helper is her brother who waits on customers when she is away from the house.

She considers her business profitable because of the income it generates. At the beginning she had problems since the financial condition of her home was precarious and it was difficult for her to continue her studies. Consequently she looked for a job and that was how she started this business. She enjoys what she does and the income she earns as well as being able to be comfortably at home and have time available to do other things.

In the future she wants to expand her business and sell clothing for men, women and children, as well. This is loan number 2 from MFP. She is very excited and grateful for the financial support they offer her to continue with her plans. She does not want to stop repaying her loan due to a lack of money and that is why she is committed to being very punctual and responsible. She is very happy to continue with her communal bank because the members are very committed and friendly.

With the S/. 1,500 requested, Lilian will purchase merchandise to stock her business such as different brands and flavors of soft drinks wholesale, as well as beer and other drinks.
