A loan of $400 helped to buy fruit and vegetables.

Ana Maria's story

Ana is originally from Masaya but now lives in Estelí. She’s 41-years-old, married, a merchant and mother of four children who are 10, 11, 14 and 18 years of age respectively. She relates that she started her fruit and vegetable business 22 years ago when she still lived in Masaya but seeing that she did not earn much income she decided to move to Estelí to sell her vegetables since commerce is better in this city. She currently gets help from her children and her brother and she’d like to make her products known in Jinotega and Ocotal where commerce generates high profits and to attain a better standard of living.

Ana is requesting the loan to buy fruit and vegetables like onions, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, oranges, pineapples, lemons, melon, etc. This loan will help her add more products to her inventory and be able to sell more for the Christmas season earning higher profits that way since her future plan is to buy a lot to build a house on. In this way to continue growing in her business; her future plan is that her children complete their education and have a better standard of living.
