A loan of $1,500 helped to build a pen and buy nutritionally-balanced feed.

Alexander's story

Alexander is 30 years old and single. He lives in his parents' home together with his older brother Ovidio. Their home is located in the community of Vallecito, some 35km from the city of Monteagudo. Alexander's main business activity is raising 'cabañero' pigs. He raises them in rustic pens and is requesting this loan to improve the pens and to buy nutritionally-balanced feed because he has some pregnant pigs and he doesn't want the piglets to die of hunger when they are born.

Alexander and Ovidio are the two children who still live at home with their parents. Their parents have other children but they only come to visit. For this reason, the pair raise 'cabañero' pigs so that they can make income and cover their parents' food and clothing expenses so that their family can lead a good life.
