Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $400 helped a member to buy food to sell from her home.

Mahudjro 1 Group's story

The MAHUDJRO 1 group is composed of three people who live in the same neighborhood. This is their third time seeking financial support from ALIDé to bolster their activities. The representative of the group is Makilawé Rose, seen with her hand raised in the photo.

Makilawé Rose is 35 years old, and she is married to a man named Antoine. She never attended school. The couple have three dependent children, all in school.

To help with the various household responsibilities, Makilawé Rose started selling food from her home ten years ago. This activity allows her to provide for her family. She buys her stock at a market in Benin.

To achieve customer satisfaction, and to increase her sales and revenue, Makilawé Rose is seeking a third loan from ALIDé together with the other members of the MAHUDJRO 1 group.

In this group: Makilawé Rose, Marie Claire, Justine
