A loan of $350 helped a member to buy pillows, mattresses and brooms.

Mahuena Group's story

The Mahuena group has three members, who all live in the same neighborhood. The group’s representative is called Joulafè, and is pictured with her hand raised in the photo. She is 55 years of age and a widow. She has three children, some of whom are at school. Her children are no longer dependent on her. Joulafè lives by herself, and is solely responsible for her different needs. To provide for herself, she has worked for around seven years selling pillows, mattresses and brooms. This business allows her to meet her needs without any great difficulty. Joulafè gets her supplies in a market in Benin. In order to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as to increase her sales and income, she has requested a fourth loan from ALIDé along with the other members of the Mahuena group. This loan will allow them to increase their business levels, as well as to expand their customer bases and have greater income.
