A loan of $100 helped a member to build a decent latrine.

Rum's Group's story

A 24-year-old mother of two little kids, Rum is one of the wage earners in her household. She supports the entire family through rice-planting with her husband. Having been in this business for just 2 years, she is able to earn up to 12,400 Riels (KHR) per day. Rum, who has never been with VisionFund before, formed a group of two, who live in the same village located in Bovel district of Battambang province, to apply for a loan. Both of them are first-time borrowers and seeking 200,000 Riels (KHR) each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy necessary materials, including latrine slab plus above the ground materials such as wooden board and zinc, in order to build a decent latrine for her family. She hopes to own a decent latrine, so she can promote a good hygienic practice among her children for their health's sake.
