Sothy's Group's story

Sothy, 26, is a married mother of two dependent children who are too young for schooling. Livng in a rural village of the Pursat province's Sampov Meas district, Sothy is a rice farmer. She has three hectares of farmland and has been in this primary business for about four years while her husband is a paid worker to help generate more income for the family. Sothy has been a member of VisionFund for two cycles already and she completely paid back the past two loans which have helped her better support her business. She is now leading a group of three who live in the same area to apply for a loan with VisionFund. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to hire laborers to prepare her land for cultivation. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income so as to fulfill her dream of running a grocery store.
