A loan of $775 helped to buy iron, welding materials, paint and other supplies for her husband's workshop which he owns.

Angela Yahaira's story

In the canton of Rocafuerte the members of the communal bank Trabanjando Para Un Futuro meet twice a month. This place is known for its delicious sweets that the locals prepare and it is known throughout the country for the warmth of its friendly working people.

Angela lives here. She is 31 years old, has a common-law marriage, and they have three children 11, 7, and 6 years of age who are school students. Her husband is a master locksmith.

She is a very good housewife who is taking a loan in order to help her husband. He has a locksmith shop and does a variety of work with metal such as doors, windows, structures and other things. He works from Monday through Saturday from 8:00AM until 6:00PM, working with the help of two people who are paid a weekly salary. She works too raising chickens and other poultry to earn her own income. Her husband has had his workshop for seven years and has never lacked for work.

This loan is to buy iron, welding materials, paint, and other necessary supplies for this type of work. She is a founding member of the communal bank and she likes it because the loans are very helpful.

Her dream is to have her own house because they pay rent where they live.
