Verónica Johanna's story

The communal bank "María Auxiliadora" meets in the parish of Sequita, which is a part of Montecristi, a prosperous canton in Manabí, a prosperous canton known for the famous woven straw hats that are appreciated by people near and far.

This is where Verónica a 28 year old woman, lives. She is married and has two children, one is 7 years old, and the other is a baby of 6 months, and her older child studies in school. Her husband works in a factory in Manta.

In order to make some money of her own and to help her husband with the household expenses, she works in sales. She buys and sells corn, feed supplements, and other nutritional products for farm animals. This business is really good because the majority of people in her area work in animal husbandry, so her sales are well assured. She likes the work that she does, since she can make money without having to leave the house, which also allows her to be available for meeting the needs of her children and the household. She has been in this work for more than three years and she is making a good income.

She will use this loan to buy corn, feed supplements, and straw. She has been with the communal bank for more than three years, and she likes it because her first loan allowed her to open her business.

Her dream is to continue growing her business.
