A loan of $3,600 helped a member to buy auto accessories.

Rosita 25 De Julio Group's story

The “Rositas 25 de Julio” communal bank will start its sixth cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Focal Center. It has nine members led by a governing board presided over by Susana. The communal bank members carry out a variety of businesses among which are blanket weaving, shoe sales, jacket manufacturing, overall sewing shop, sweater knitting, cap knitting, macramé weaving and auto detailing. The loan they’ll take out will benefit small micro businesswomen.

Susana is one of the members. She indicates that she’s been a member of Pro Mujer for two years having joined thanks to an invitation from a girlfriend who is a member of the institution. She currently has an auto detailing business that’s a family business that arose from her and her husband’s joint initiative; he helps her with the sales.

The loan she’ll take out now is to increase capital. She will buy accessories for cars in stores that sell them at wholesale and then she’ll resell them in her store. This way of working allows her to generate income to support herself and her family since she’s married and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the savings.
