Petronila Del Socorro's story

Petronila del Socorro, 53, lives in the town of La Paz Centro. She is married, has a son who is a university student, and works as a seamstress. She has been in business for 20 years and started it to help her husband cover household expenses. The clothing she makes includes pants, uniforms, shirts, shorts, skirts and dresses, and she works out of a room in her house.

She plans to use the loan to buy sewing materials such as fabric, thread, sewing machine oil, bobbins, and needles. Petronila del Socorro has always been a very hard-working, responsible person with determination to improve her situation. Her greatest desire is to help her son get professional training. Petronila del Socorro is grateful to Kiva lenders for helping people with low incomes in poor counties like Nicaragua to be able to earn a decent living.
