A loan of $775 helped to buy more clothes and expand her business.

Allen's story

Allen is 30 years old and lives in the town of Ibanda in the Kabwohe region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children, 2 of whom are currently in school. For the past 4 years, Allen has been working hard to manage her clothes store and a tailoring business, which makes and sells clothes.

To help expand her business, Allen has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes and expand her business, and will help Allen to generate greater profits. Allen hopes that in the future she will be able to be more productive.

Allen is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Allen who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
