Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Bonswendtelgo Group's story

Aminata is in charge of the Bonswendtelgo group. She is married and mother to two children. The eldest is 11 years old and the youngest seven. They both go to school and Aminata has two dependents.

She has been selling cakes and "pagnes" (pieces of colorful fabric) for the past three years. She gets her supplies in the surrounding shops. Her customers are shopkeepers (men and women).

She wants to buy for herself two sacks of flour, two containers of oil, a bag of sugar and five sets of "pagnes".

Aminata saves her profits and her ambition is to improve her business and help her husband out with the household expenses.
