Kunthea's Group's story

Kunthea, age 31 and married, is a mother of four children who are still in school. To deal with daily cost of living, she has been raising pigs for 15 years and is able to earn up to 11,500 KHR per day. Her husband is a doctor in the rural community.

In a group of two, Kunthea is in the first loan while her co-borrower is in the third loan with VisionFund (Kiva's partner). The entire group loan is 1,800,000 KHR. For Kunthea, her loan portion in amount of 800,000 KHR will be used to buy pig's feed for her only business and medicine for her husband's occupation. She expects to fatten her pigs in a healthy condition so she can sell at a high price with high income. Hence, she can keep up a good pace of her living condition.
