Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,025 helped to grow potatoes.

Antonio's story

Antonio is 37 years old, he is married and he lives with his wife and their three children. With this loan he plans to buy potato seeds and to hire a worker to help him plant potatoes. He wants to start this project, which he had previously thought about, because he will be able to generate income so that he can contribute to his household expenses.

He doesn't have the capital necessary to make purchases of supplies, nor to hire anyone, because he is a low-income worker. This is why he is seeking a loan. It is his first loan from Fudecosur. He has not had other loans before from the state banks, but Fudecosur has given him his first loan with good terms and a low interest rate.
