A loan of $575 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Justina's story

Justina, 56, is a modest woman. She lives with one of her seven children; Yameli who takes care of her in the house she obtained in the community 20 years ago. From the first rays of the sun, Justina leaves her home to her farmland located an hour walk away. While she attends the fields, she takes her animals, pigs and sheep, with her to eat natural pasture, while she takes care of the food, fertilizing and removing the weeds which constantly grow between the rows. She owns her own farmland thanks to her effort and some inheritance from her parents. She likes to see her food grow and ripen because that way she can sell them in the market in the city in planting season. Now she wants to have much success in her next organic potato planting also called “native potatoes”.

She belongs to the support group “yanamarquinas women” and this is loan number 3 with MFP, where she feels developed, as she receives economic aid to progress in her business. She promises to be punctual with her payments. Justina will invest the money to purchase organic fertilizer for her next crop of potatoes.
