Kanipa's story

Kanipa is 61 years old and married. Kanipa and her husband are pensioners. Kanipa is disabled. Kanipa has higher education. She graduated from the polytechnic institute with a specialty in mechanical engineering. She worked as a senior mechanical engineer at a local collective farm for 22 years. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the privatization of collective farms, in 1996, Kalipa and her husband started their own business with an initial sum of 3,000 KGS. Today, thanks to the care of Kanipa, the monthly income of the household is 8,000 KGS. currently, Kanipa and her husband are involved in breeding livestock and crop agriculture. At this moment, Kanipa possesses two hectares of land where they annually plant potatoes and sow wheat. Apart from the land, she has two cows and five sheep. In order to further expand her business, Kanipa appealed to the organization Bai-Tushum and Partners for a loan in the amount of 40.000 som (KGS) to purchase additional cattle at a lower price, for feeding and resale. Kanipa has plans to improve the welfare of her family, and in future plans to do a major overhaul of her house and expand her household.
