A loan of $1,000 helped to fix up her family's home.

Niagna Ndiaye's story

Mademoiselle Niagna is a single young woman who lives in a village community in Senegal. She works in the service sector and has worked as a hairdresser for more than ten years in a salon located in the area where she lives, not far from her home. She is the family breadwinner and pays to rent the salon where she works. She is a member of the UIMCEC branch in her area, and has already repaid four previous loans. She is seeking a loan of 500,000 XOF, which she foresees using to fix up her family's home. Her objective is to renovate their home in order to improve their living environment. In the future, she wishes to become the best known hairdresser in the village and to have several hair salons.
