A loan of $675 helped a member to buy seeds and fertilizer for his farmland.

Heak's Group's story

Heak, 47, is married and living with his son in a rural village of the Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Cambodia. He and his wife earn a living through farming and working for other people for a fee. They have been in this business for eight years, earning about KHR 20,000 per day and are able to save about KHR 8,000 each day after expenses for the future needs.

Heak’s group consists of four members who have been with VisionFund for four cycles. The past loans, which Heak fully paid back, have supported his family and given them sufficient food. Now he is leading his group to ask for a loan. Heak wants to use his portion to buy seeds and fertilizer for his farmland and use a portion of it to spend on labor costs. He hopes his crop yield will become more productive so he can sell it for a good price to improve his family living’s conditions.
