A loan of $1,050 helped a member to buy cows for raising and to help her in the rice field.

Sean's Group's story

Sean is a 57-year-old resident from the Sampov Meas district of Pursat province. She is married and has seven children, two of whom depend on her and have their own employment to help the family generate income. She has been engaged in farming rice on three hectares of farmland for five years. She has been in this business for five years and is able to earn about 27,000 KHR per day. The main challenge for her farming business is drought.

Sean has had three previous loans with VisionFund and has completely repaid them. The past three loans have helped her to manage her business and maintain a standard of living for her family. She has now formed a group of three to request a new loan. Sean and her group members are applying for 1,400,000 KHR each. As the group leader, she is going to use her loan portion to buy cows for raising and to help her in the rice-field. She hopes this loan will enable her to have cows as additional labor to earn more income to better her living condition.
