Juan's story

Juan is 30 years old and lives alongside his wife and small 3-year-old daughter, whom he loves very much and for whom he pushes himself each day. Juan is a hard-working man, who with much effort and saving has managed to start his own business of raising and selling guinea pigs. Juan has been working in this job for about three years and in spite of the inconveniences and adversities he continues working with much spirit. Juan is very dedicated and above all, raises the little animals with affection; even when he sells them he sometimes becomes a bit sad for it. On occasions Juan works as a laborer in the crop fields on the farms in his city. Juan believes that his business is doing well becuase he is very friendly with the customers and above all, because he has a motive to get ahead, and this motive is his daughter.

Juan is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they have offered him he will be able to build new corrals for raising the guinea pigs since they have now grown in number. In this way Juan will be able to have a better environment for raising his animals and to be able to continue fighting to make his greatest dream a reality: To give his daughter a profession and to have a larger farm for raising guinea pigs.
