Luz Erika's story

Luz is a 32-year-old woman. She lives in the city of Nazca with her husband and two young children, whom she loves and who are her main reason for living. She is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person, who together with her husband, dedicates all her effort to supporting her family. Thanks to her hard work, Luz was able to complete a technical degree in tourism. In her free time, she likes to relax by listening to a little music, and occasionally she likes to cook a delicious "Seco de Res" [cilantro beef stew] to share with her family.

With a great deal of effort and dedication, Luz works day after day in her small dessert-sales business. Every day, starting early in the morning, she begins her work, preparing her delicious sweets in order to have them ready for sale. She is able to work approximately ten hours a day, and believes that it is going well for her because of the effort that she puts into her work.

Luz is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because thanks to the help given, she will be able to plaster, paint, and install a floor in the small space she uses for her shop. In this way, Luz will have a more presentable place of business and a more suitable workplace. With these improvements, Luz hopes to increase her sales so that soon she will be able to expand her business. In the near future, she hopes to realize he dream of having a large dessert shop.
