A loan of $775 helped to buy a cow.

Miriam's story

Miriam, 19, is a young woman living in the city of Cañete in Imperial District with her parents and little two-year-old daughter who she loves and is her reason to live. She’s a very kind, hardworking, enthusiastic person who very much wants to improve. Unfortunately, Miriam was unable to study a professional career because she had to start working very young helping her mother raise cattle.

With much effort and dedication and thanks to support from her mother, Miriam works in animal husbandry. She has four breeding cows and one heifer she feeds and cares for with much dedication. She also sells milk. Miriam feels good doing her work and believes she does well because she’s very responsible.

Miriam is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the support provided she will be able to buy a cow so Miriam will increase her herd size; she’d like to have a large stable in a short period of time so she can reach her dream of having her own line of dairy products and be able to provide her little girl with the necessary education for her to become a good professional someday.
